SUMMARY

The Senior Manager of E-Commerce Marketing is responsible for leading key marketing initiatives that drive business results across both ThinkGeek Stores and ThinkGeek.com. The Sr. Manager, Marketing will provide clear vision of the marketing strategy and objectives and will direct the implementation of supporting tactics across the organization. The successful candidate is an expert at driving scalable growth while optimizing programs across multiple channels and hitting strict ROI targets. The role is responsible for the following marketing channels: paid search, affiliate marketing, paid social, re-targeting and display marketing, and partnerships. Must have a strategic vision along with the ability to deliver on monthly and weekly sales goals.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*

  • Responsible for assisting in the development of ThinkGeek brand strategy
  • Develops marketing plan and associated initiatives to support brand strategy and overall company initiatives
  • Assists in the execution of key marketing tactics in conjunction with internal team and agency partners
  • Manages key marketing agency relationships
  • Assists in budget planning, responsible for regular reporting and budget adherence
  • Responsible for marketing/ad performance against key objectives
  • Manages and develops team of marketing managers, provides clear direction and supervision to ensure superior results
  • Develops cross-functional relationships with key internal business partners and external vendors
  • Analyzes complex, evolving situations, to arrive at productive, sustainable solutions
  • Responsible for the development of quality, innovative and creative ideas
  • Maximize online revenue and new customer acquisition from core external channels, paid search and affiliate marketing, while continuing to test and expand retargeting and display advertising
  • Paid Search: Expand non-brand SEM—both Shopping Ads and keywords--while managing spend ratios to both sales and margin; maintain brand performance
  • Search: Manage ThinkGeek Retail Google My Business account including adding new Businesses and establishing best practices for local search strategy
  • SEO: Collaborate with search agency and internal teams to improve SEO. Manage multiple SEO project across teams and track and report results.
  • Affiliates: Drive growth in affiliate marketing channel, including a review of offer strategy, creative requests, commissions, and partnership mix (e.g. content sites, coupon sites, etc.)
  • Feeds: Manage external Product Feed Agency and syndication of product data and Comparison-Shopping Engine relationships
  • Paid Social: work with social marketing manager to amplify organic posts with strategic high ROI spend on Facebook, Instagram and other channels.
  • Retargeting Display: manage our site retargeting program, optimize spend and creative, set strategy, look for growth opportunities, report results.
  • Marketing Budget: track and report all Marketing expenses. Responsible for monthly accruals, invoices approvals, spend budget forecast, etc.
  • All Channels: ensure all channels under this role’s direct management reflect brand priorities, voice, promotional cadence, key products, etc. Effectively communicate this to external agencies.
  • Continuously review and recommend new marketing and audience opportunities to add to the Marketing tool box

BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)

  • Accredited bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, advertising or related field required
  • At least 5 years of retail e-commerce marketing experience required
  • 1-2 years of experience in paid search required, additional SEO experience preferred
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience managing others is preferred

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • Expert knowledge of ecommerce marketing
  • Ability to craft clear and concise creative briefs based on an expert understanding of the marketing objectives and strategies
  • Proficient conceptual understanding of brand marketing, strategic positioning and consumer insights
  • Strong analytical skills, accurate forecasting ability, knowledge of a/b testing
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proficient project planning skills, including the ability to organize, prioritize and control job responsibilities to meet deadlines accurately in an environment with overlapping and potentially conflicting priorities
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others using written and spoken English including the ability to provide clear, constructive feedback to team members— bilingual (English/Spanish) skills preferred
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others; conducts working relationships in a manner acceptable to others and to the organization
  • Expert relationship building skills including the capacity to predict and manage behavior, build and leverage cross-functional partnerships within and outside of the organization, and leverage influential leadership
