We are seeking a Retail Operations Analyst who will work with the Omnichannel Strategic Planning & Analysis Director to develop solutions for complex, and ambiguous business challenges. To do this, the Analyst will develop financial models and conduct ad-hoc analysis that provide ThinkGeek leadership with the appropriate tools and resources they need to measure the performance of the company’s retail, wholesale, and product objectives. In this role, the Analyst will be determining the profitability of current business processes, products, and new initiatives. Additionally, this role will run multiple reports to monitor the performance of existing strategic initiatives and business processes.


  • Develop, run and automate or distribute KPIs and reports on a daily, weekly, monthly, and ad hoc basis that measure the profitability of the business. Ensure reports are accurate, timely, relevant, and actionable.
  • Prepare ad-hoc analysis and ROI based business models to determine financial viability of new and existing processes,  products, and services
  • Ensures operational processes are aligned with financial targets. Identify pain points. Use data and insights to collaboratively determine the next best action
  • Demonstrates competencies in decision support and reporting by converting raw data into actionable information
  • Advocate passionately for profitable growth that positively impacts our customer experience
  • Works effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, and demanding environment. Expert multitasker.

  • Accredited bachelor’s degree in business, statistics, economics, engineering, mathematics, computer technology or related quantitative field required
  • 3 years+ professional experience in an analytically-based role in an Internet environment, preferably with retail experience


  • Omnichannel retail experience preferred
  • Expert knowledge of Excel required
  • Knowledge of SQL required
  • Analytical thinker with great attention to detail. Deductive reasoning skills, a high level of intellectual curiosity, and analytical ability required. Expert problem solving, business analysis, and quantitative skills are ideal.
  • Ability and desire to learn the business and its cost drivers in order to clearly explain the story behind the numbers, not just report the numbers
  • Ability to work with large amounts of multi-faceted data to create insightful and meaningful information used in driving sound business decisions. Experience querying databases to clean and aggregate relevant data required to run analysis.
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives at one time and successfully meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of Javascript, HTML, statistical analysis software (e.g. SAS), and Tableau preferred
  • Knowledge of GAAP and common accounting terminology
  • Desire and aptitude to communicate effectively and concisely. Demonstrates a high level of personal accountability. Applies critical thinking and sound judgment when faced with unstructured situations
  • Demonstrated ability to model customer-focused behaviors leading to outstanding customer experiences. Willingness to assist other functions and work groups as needed so the department achieves or exceeds its overall business objectives
  • Proficient ability to remain effective under stress, and respond to pressure in a manner acceptable to others and to the organization
